Benchmarking
This can be done when there is a desired industry standard, recommended approach, strategy or Action Plan already known or in place and there is a need to apply that in a client organization. A DEE benchmarking framework is devised by our DEE experts and where appropriate, in close consultation with client’s staff. This DEE framework summarises the key elements and activities that need to be done and the key outcomes that have to be delivered if the desired standards or objectives are to be achieved. Quantitative and qualitative performance indicators are then derived for each desired outcome. The resulting DEE framework is then applied to assess current state of progress towards the agreed outcomes as evidenced by the percentage completion of the performance indicators. This if applied horizontally, gives a %age score (0% to 100%) for every individual element within the framework so that compliance with the standard or approach can be assessed and the areas needing most attention identified.
If, in addition, activities at sub divisions are also to be assessed, the DEE framework is developed as a 3 dimensional framework with the horizontal dimension providing assessment of the key elements of the desired standard, strategy etc and the vertical dimension indicating activities at each sub division and their contribution towards the the overall progress of the organisation. This identifies the specific aspects that need attention in each sub division if the overall organisation is to be able to deliver the the agreed standards or desired outcomes.
